THE SECRET FORMULA
In the mid-nineteenth century, Giuseppe Moravia invents a secret formula for “protective grease for ship hulls” and entrusts production and marketing to his son-in-law, Gioachino Veneziani.
1863
VENEZIANI S.A. IS FOUNDED
In Trieste in 1863, Gioachino Veneziani launches “Fabbrica Vernici e Intonaci Sottomarini Gioachino Veneziani S.A.”
LLOYD’S AND THE BRITISH ROYAL NAVY
The new coating was so effective in preventing the spread of algae and other weeds that it was immediately applied to all the Lloyd’s ships that passed through the port of Trieste, and was later successfully adopted by various navies, first and foremost the British Royal Navy.
1903
FIRST PRODUCTION FACILITY IN THE UK
Through this, Gioachino Veneziani was able to open the first factory for antifouling coatings abroad in Chatan, England. The factory was managed by Ettore Schmitz, the son-in-law of the founder, better known by his pen name; Italo Svevo.
THE WORLD-LEADING UNDERWATER PAINT
Very quickly, Veneziani’s antifouling hull coating gains a global reputation as the “world-leading underwater paint”.
1983
PARTNER OF AZZURRA
Veneziani becomes the supplier and primary sponsor of Azzurra, the first Italian team to participate in the America’s Cup, the most prestigious global sailing competition.
2000
VENEZIANI YACHTING AND THE GRUPPO BOERO
Exceptional quality has remained the defining feature throughout the ongoing evolution of Veneziani Yachting, which has become a leading brand in the Yachting Division of the Gruppo Boero since the early 2000s.
SPEEDY CARBONIUM: THE ANTIFOULING OF CHAMPIONS
Speedy Carbonium is launched, the antifouling solution that supports all the leading sailors. Designed for regatta boats, with a high concentration of carbon that guarantees enhanced performance.
2021
THE VENEZIANI PROGRAM IS LAUNCHED
Veneziani Yachting is increasingly active in the DIY market, which is why it has created the VENEZIANI PROGRAM. This includes a range of services designed to offer the highest level of support to all maritime and sailing enthusiasts.
A 150-YEAR PASSION

This great adventure, that began with the creation of the first antifouling paint, continues today with the development of increasingly effective and resistant products, thanks to the continued investment in research.

Achieving this goal means constantly experimenting and developing new tools, to offer the boating community best-in-class products for looking after their boats themselves.
